During Roland Garros - 2003 ( Julia's Grand Slam debut), she defeated Christina Torrens Valero of Spain and Francesca Shiavone of Italy before her loss to Jennifer Capriati.

2004: For the first time in her career Julia reached semifinal of the WTA event (Canberra)
