Seventeen-year-old Olga Savchuk (photo by Andrei Romanuk) reached her firts caree WTA quarterfinal by beating Russian Evgenia Linetskaya 3-6 6-0 6-4 in the Second Round of the Tashkent open. Her next opponent will be Second Seed American Megan Shaughnessy who beat another Ukrainian - Yulia Beygelzimer in the Second Round.

In the First Round Savchuk made her winning debut at the WTA events. She defeated World's number 99 Ann Kremer of Luxembourg.

Meanwhile, Yulia Beygelzimer (with Silvia Talaja of Croatia) reached Double's Semifinal. Yulia is Double's defending champion at the Tashkent open
